OVER HONG KONG xiv From 1964 to 1982 a harbour reclamation project created a great expanse of new land in Wanchai. The Group had the foresight to build one of the first commercial buildings in the new area which, on completion, became the Group’s new headquarters, the Sun Hung Kai Centre (1982). Since then, Wanchai North, as it is known, has further developed into a key extension of the Central Business District.
