Supporting Community Chest Dress Casual Day 07.11.2023 SHKP colleagues are always delighted to support worthy causes. On the annual Community Chest Dress Casual Day, over 300 SHKP colleagues from more than 20 departments wore casual clothes to raise funds for The Community Chest to support the people in need in the community.

The Point and Hong Chi Association collaborate to organize The Beauty of Nature Drawing Contest 30.10.2023 SHKP's integrated loyalty programme for SHKP malls, The Point, supports worthy charitable causes and encourages its members to donate their bonus points to four charity partners. The Point recently also joined forces with Hong Chi Association to organize "The Beauty of Nature" Drawing Contest. To proactively promote environmental conservation, The Point leveraged the winning drawings to create green gifts for its members to redeem. "The Beauty of Nature" Drawing Contest invited students from 14 primary and secondary schools operating under Hong Chi Association to participate, encouraging them to overcome the inherent challenges and showcase their creativity and artistic talent. The contest was divided into primary and secondary school divisions, with the theme "My Favourite Natural Environment" and "My Favourite Animal", respectively. The contest received an overwhelming response with more than 200 entries. Twenty-six awards were presented after the selection by the co-organizers and online voting by The Point members on The Point Facebook page. Last year, to foster green consumption, The Point collaborated with Nature Rescue, which is the first terrestrial and coastal clean-up mobile app, to introduce a reward programme. In addition, to promote its green concepts in the community, SHKP recently displayed all the winning entries of the drawing contest at YOHO MALL and printed the two first-prize drawings on gifts exclusively for The Point members to redeem. After deducting costs, the proceeds, plus The Point's extra donation, will be passed on to Hong Chi Association, showcasing the united efforts of The Point and its members to support people in need in the community.

SHKP Reading Club spreads the joy of reading to students in Sham Shui Po 27.10.2023 The company strives to promote the love of reading among young people through its SHKP Reading Club. Recently, SHKP Executive Director Christopher Kwok led the SHKP Reading Club to host a reading sharing session at Shamshuipo Kaifong Welfare Association Primary School, an extended activity of the Read to Dream programme. He shared his reading experience with over 70 senior primary students and recommended Chronicles for Children, A Treasure Hunt for Hong Kong’s Return to the Motherland. This pictorial book, published under the sponsorship of SHKP, allows students to learn more about Hong Kong history and STEM. In the sharing session, Mr Kwok explained how he manages his busy work schedule properly to allocate time for reading every day. He also encouraged the students to explore more about Hong Kong and the mainland through reading, and gain a deeper understanding of the rich Chinese culture and history, as well as general science.

SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation visits Hunan University 16.10.2023 Mr. Terry Li of SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation (the Foundation) recently visited Hunan University to review the implementation of the scholarship scheme and attend a seminar with the HNU Education Foundation, teachers of the student affairs department, and representatives of the beneficiary students. He encouraged the students to embrace the future with a confident and proactive attitude, maintain their relationships with the alumni and teachers of the university with gratitude, and pass on the caring spirit. The beneficiary student representatives presented a handmade watercolour painting to express their appreciation to the Foundation after the seminar.

Successful conclusion of the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong 10K Championships 13.10.2023 SHKP is dedicated to promoting Sports for Charity and has long encouraged the community to exercise regularly to embrace a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong 10K Championships, for which the Group is the title sponsor and which is organized by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates, was successfully held in Tin Shui Wai, attracting around 1,500 runners, including over 140 of SHKP’s long-distance running enthusiasts, in an exhilarating atmosphere. This year's race attracted not only a multitude of long-distance running enthusiasts, but also local top-tier elite athletes. Starting at Tin Ying Road, the runners finished the race by returning to the starting point, covering a total of 10 kilometres. The runners gave their best efforts to achieve the desired results in the race. The winners of the overall and senior champion of the Men's and Women's races were Mark Yu and Crystal Vut, respectively, with the former clocking an impressive time of 32 minutes and 50 seconds, and the latter a commendable time of 37 minutes and 34 seconds.

SHKP spreads warmth in the community in the Mid-Autumn Festival 29.09.2023 The Mid-Autumn Festival is a warm occasion for family reunions and celebrations. To bring festive cheer to the underprivileged and older people, SHKP recently distributed goodie bags containing mooncakes, noodles and stationery packs to underprivileged families in Tuen Mun and Sai Kung districts through the Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative to express care and blessings to people in need in the community. The SHKP Volunteer Team also visited grassroots families in Tuen Mun District, and joined students and their parents in the “Music and the Team” Intergenerational Programme to share the festive joy with the singleton elderly and two-elder families in Pak Tin Estate.

SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation launches scholarship programme to support PolyU students 29.08.2023 To help the construction industry nurture talent, the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) launched the Building Homes with Heart Scholarship Programme to provide support to exceptional PolyU students, focusing particularly on those facing financial challenges who are studying construction, real estate or engineering-related disciplines. Ten outstanding PolyU students received the scholarships in the recent inaugural award ceremony of the scholarship programme. The 10 recipients are undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering, the Department of Building and Real Estate, and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Each student was awarded a scholarship of up to HK$40,000. The awarded students said the scholarships alleviated their financial burden and served as a source of encouragement. At the award ceremony, Director of the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Thomas Kwok said he hoped the scholarships would become a driving force for the students to achieve greater success in their studies and careers, thereby contributing to the future development of the country and Hong Kong.

SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation continues to provide scholarships for Tianjin University students 15.08.2023 The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation and Tianjin University recently signed a donation agreement for the fifth phase of the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Tianjin University Scholarship Programme, which was established in 2009 to support outstanding students from financially disadvantaged families to complete their studies. The Foundation has donated over HK$13 million in total to the scholarship programme, benefitting nearly 2,500 students and nurturing high-calibre talent with a strong sense of social responsibility and global perspectives. SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok encouraged the students to seize this opportunity and strive to achieve their best in their studies to make a valuable contribution to the country in the future.

Read to Dream x Future Engineer Grand Challenge develops students' innovation and technology potential 07.08.2023 Guests of honour, judges, and winning students and their teachers take a photo together at the Read to Dream x Future Engineer Grand Challenge award ceremony Read to Dream x Future Engineer Grand Challenge develops students' innovation and technology potential To promote innovation and technology (I&T) education for the young generation, the SHKP Reading Club collaborated with the Hong Kong STEM Education Alliance for the second year in a row to organize the Read to Dream x Future Engineer Grand Challenge to encourage students to apply science and technology creatively in their daily lives. The winning designs were displayed in the SHKP Reading Club's booth at the Hong Kong Book Fair to share the students' achievements with the public. Nearly 300 entries received – a new record The Read to Dream x Future Engineer Grand Challenge this year was expanded with three new themes – "Smart Living", "Green Innovation and Technology" and "Art Technology" – to encourage students to creatively use innovative technology to enhance the quality of everyday life. A total of 287 entries from more than 800 students from 122 schools were received, more than double the number of entries received last year. The designs this year were both creative and practical. Smart Fish Tank Monitoring System, by Ho Lap Primary School (sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen), the first-prize entry in the primary category under the theme "Smart Living", automatically measures indoor and water temperatures. It is equipped with a regular automated feeding system, and the data is uploaded to an Internet of Things (IOT) platform, enabling users to remotely monitor the fish tank data. Joyful Farming, by Fung Kai No.1 Secondary School, the first-prize entry in the junior secondary category under the theme "Green Innovation and Technology", is an irrigation system that automatically adjusts the environment to allow the users to carry out hydroponic farming easily. FLAI (Follow to Learn An Instrument), by Diocesan Girls' School, the first-prize entry in the senior secondary category under the theme "Art Technology", uses AI and machine learning to monitor users’ posture when playing instruments and provide advice on how to improve. Sponsoring 2,000 students to visit the book fair In addition to the I&T design contest, the Read to Dream x Future Engineer Grand Challenge collaborated with long-term partner the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to sponsor 2,000 students to visit this year's book fair. Each of 800 underprivileged students under the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, the North District Primary School Headmasters Conference and the Sham Shui Po Residents Association was also provided with a HK$250 book allowance to buy STEM and Chinese culture books at the book fair.
