Balance bikes, which are suitable for toddlers, have become increasingly popular in Hong Kong in recent years. New Town Plaza recently opened Hong Kong's first outdoor balance bike park, transforming children into 'little racers', who flash along the safe but exciting lane.  

Like streaking through the African savannah

Walking into this balance bike park, with a total area of 8,000 square feet, both kids and adults will be enthralled by its thematic design as a primitive jungle. As the 'little racers' move along the broad roundabout, they pass decorations of various wild animals, including African elephants and giraffes, making it like an exciting dash through the African savannah. A pinball machine concept was introduced in the lane design, coupled with small ramps and other facilities, to make the experience even more thrilling. 

There are a lot of thoughtful designs in the park, such as a covered area designated for waiting and preparation outside the field. The area provides seats, drinking fountains and lockers free of charge, so that the children can prepare for the games, while their parents can comfortably watch their children chasing the wind from a sheltered vantage point.
