
The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation continues to focus on poverty alleviation and supporting underprivileged students despite the pandemic. The Foundation recently signed a donation agreement with Southwest University for a new phase of its scholarship programme, supporting underprivileged students with good academic performance to complete their studies, bringing its total donations to RMB10 million and benefitting 2,500 students.
The Foundation believes that concerted efforts are needed to help the country attains moderate prosperity. The scholarship programme, set up by the Foundation in 2007, has decade-long support for the higher education development in western China, allowing underprivileged students to have equal opportunities for advancement. Amy Kwok, Executive Director of SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation is pleased to see that the University has injected matching funds to expand the scope of the subsidized services, which now provide training on learning ability and subsidize students' enrolments in professional training courses and public examinations, boosting their competitiveness to meet the changing needs of society.
