Cyclists participate in a road cycling race in Heung Yuen Wai to prepare for the 'SHKP Hong Kong Cyclothon'

05.12.2022

The 'Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon' returns on 18 December after a four-year absence. To provide a valuable opportunity for riders to practice and boost their condition, the Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China recently organized the 'Sun Hung Kai Properties Heung Yuen Wai Road Cycling Race cum Leisure Race', title-sponsored by SHKP. The mega cycling event, with over 700 cyclists taking part, was the celebration event of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, with Secretary for Security Chris Tang as the officiating guest.

The cycling event featured two races, a road cycling race and a leisure race, with the routes ranging from 10 km to 61 km. The men's and women's road cycling races were divided into different age groups, with 500 cyclists taking part. The leisure race was also well-attended by 200 participants. SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok, who participated in the event, said, "It has been three years since the last men's and women's cycling race and leisure race in Hong Kong. This was an unforgettable major cycling event as it attracted over 700 participants! The 'Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon', title-sponsored by SHKP, is also making a comeback after a four-year absence. I hope that the competition shows that Hong Kong has overcome the pandemic, is braving the winds and moving forward at full speed." There are 70 SHKP colleagues joined the cycling event, enjoying the fun of cycling with the cheers and support of the crowd.
