The main office building, B02, in site B of the Chengdu ICC development was topped out on 1 September 2020. The 45-floor main building is 194.15 metres high (205.5 metres including the machine room roof) with a gross floor area of 1.14 million square feet (106,000 square metres). Construction commenced on 1 December 2018 and spanned 641 days. The team faced many construction difficulties, including complex structures on special floors, a massive volume of rebar and concrete, a narrow construction site, government environmental controls, and construction noise complaints from nearby residents. The team also coped with the challenges of high temperatures, heavy rain and the COVID-19 pandemic. But none of the issues stopped the team’s progress. The team adopted comprehensive safety measures, resulting in zero accidents during construction. The team’s great quality-control work earned high accolades from the Institute of Quality Inspection.
