SHKP sponsors the Construction Industry Century Memories exhibition – Memorable Structures in the Past Century

20.10.2020

The construction industry has not only driven the economic growth of Hong Kong, but has also transformed the city's urban landscape. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA) this year, the HKCA is hosting a Construction Industry Century Memories roving exhibition, titled 'Memorable Structures in the Past Century', with SHKP a platinum sponsor of the event.

In addition to showcasing precious historical artefacts and the development history of the HKCA, the exhibition features a 12 x 2.5-metre animated artwork, named 'Transforming Stones into Today's Hong Kong'. Created by a young Hong Kong artist based on more than 100 photos of Hong Kong during different periods, the watercolour painting employs interactive animations of urban transformation, the evolution of construction technologies, and building developments, illustrating inspiring stories of Hong Kong construction projects and people over the past century. The International Commerce Centre, developed by SHKP, is vividly featured in the artwork as one of Hong Kong's iconic landmarks (see animation). Visit the exhibition, and get a first-hand look at the fascinating artwork!

Schedule and venue of the Memorable Structures in the Past Century exhibition:

From now until 26 October – The Oval Atrium in IFC Mall, Central
