Reading is not necessarily an individual activity. It can be a way to broaden horizons through interacting with others. Recently, the SHKP Reading Club organized a seminar, titled 'How do performers enjoy reading?' The four main actors in a play called Verdict – Stephen Chan, Simon Ngai, Patra Au and Ivy Lau – were invited to speak at the seminar, with Ivy Lau also serving as the hostess. They shared useful screenplay memory hacks and effective reading tips with the participants.

Acting in a live play is not an easy job since no bloopers or even slight hesitation is acceptable. To put on a good show, the actors must memorize and recite every word and line in the play extremely well and naturally. Memorization, which helps the four guests with their acting, can also help young people study. While education today places more importance on analysis than on memorization, reciting helps deepen the memory.
