The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation endeavours to help the underprivileged. Recently, the Foundation donated RMB1.5 million to the Hong Kong Poverty Alleviation Association to sponsor the Rural Doctor Training Programme in Nanjiang county, in Bazhong, Sichuan, to improve local medical services. The training programme, organized by the Nanjiang County Health Bureau, provided five terms of training courses from 2018 to 2020 for about 500 rural doctors in the county. The courses covered both theoretical knowledge and practical training, including basic medical knowledge, public health knowledge, treatment of common diseases in rural villages, first-aid knowledge and the country's poverty alleviation measures in the healthcare sector. To ensure service quality, only rural doctors who passed the programme's assessment would be qualified for the village's healthcare service.
