SHKP fully supports government's Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme, which provides young people with internship opportunities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The SHKP Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme has received enthusiastic support. SHKP selected 14 university fresh graduates from more than 250 graduates from leading local, mainland and overseas universities. Among real estate developers, the Group has the largest number of first batch of recruits in the government's programme. The graduates reported for duty in Guangzhou or Zhongshan for various SHKP projects and businesses after completing orientation training in Hong Kong. Experienced staff based in the GBA are arranged to serve as mentors, helping the newcomers adapt to the life and work culture in the GBA.
SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok shared three points of advice with the young colleagues in the orientation week: (1) keep a curious mind; (2) keep learning new skills to prepare for future job; and (3) uphold SHKP's high-quality services and reputation, and serve as ambassadors of Hong Kong in the development of the GBA. He encouraged the young colleagues to enjoy their fruitful life in the GBA.
14 intern colleagues are very much looking forward to developing their careers in the GBA. According to Queenie Chong, one of the newcomers who studied in the United Kingdom as an exchange student, owing to the epidemic, she stayed in Hong Kong last year, which made her determined to work outside Hong Kong this year. She hopes to move out of her comfort zone and hone her skills while she is young. Another participant, Kelvin Lam, was drawn to the GBA's strong culture of technological innovation. He said he looks forward to working in the GBA and learning from the young elite on the mainland.
