Noah's Ark organizes "Para Sports Day"

08.08.2022

Guests and participants express the spirit of physically handicapped and able-bodied (PHAB) inclusion

Many people with physical disabilities lack opportunities for social communication and outdoor activities, as they have stayed home for a prolonged period during the pandemic. Therefore, Noah's Ark Hong Kong recently collaborated with the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee to jointly organize "Para Sports Day" to encourage people with disabilities and their families to experience various sports activities and enhance awareness of physically handicapped and able-bodied (PHAB) inclusion among the public.

Organized at Ma Wan Event Centre, the event was well-attended by 150 students with disabilities and their families and friends. Through enjoying and experiencing different kinds of sports activities, the participants showed their vitality, relieved stress, and boosted their perseverance, morale and positive vibes. Attending the event as officiating guests were Thomas Kwok, Senior Director, Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Limited; Jenny Fung, President of the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee; and six-time Paralympic Games gold-medallist So Wa-wai, who shared their own inspiring stories to encourage the participants. Thomas Kwok also experienced para-golf and wheelchair fencing to demonstrate the spirit of PHAB equity and inclusion.
