As part of SHKP's Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative, the SHKP volunteers recently visited the elderly in various districts and distributed goodie bags to bring a sense of joy during the Chinese New Year festivities.

Expressing festive blessings to the elderly through music

SHKP's Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative volunteers visited the elderly in Sham Shui Po and Kwai Tsing. Students and their parents under the "Music and the Team" Intergenerational Programme, who received grants and took ukulele lessons for a few months, joined the visits and gave lively music performances.

Presenting handmade gifts to express care for the elderly residents in rural areas 

The SHKP Volunteer Team launched the "Make a Friend, Connect with Suburban" programme a few years ago to support the elderly residing in rural areas. During the Chinese New Year, the SHKP Volunteer Team's community volunteer partners delivered festive gift bags to the elderly residents living in Yuen Long Hung Shui Kiu. The gift bags contained scarves hand-knitted by the SHKP volunteers and adorable brick dragon models, spreading warmth and festive cheer.
