The Building Homes with Heart Scholarship Programme, jointly initiated by the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation and PolyU, has welcomed its second batch of students, awarding scholarships to nine outstanding PolyU students pursuing studies in construction, real estate or engineering-related disciplines. To broaden their horizons and provide them with insights into SHKP's corporate culture and iconic developments, a site visit to GO PARK Sai Sha, a mega sports-and-commercial complex, was arranged for the recipients.
The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation is committed to nurturing talent, and PolyU has been a cradle for cultivating talent for the construction and engineering industries. Many SHKP's senior executives are PolyU graduates. Over the past five years, SHKP's construction department has recruited about 200 interns from the university.
In the award ceremony held in late August, SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok said: "The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation and PolyU established the Building Homes with Heart Scholarship Programme to support exceptional PolyU students. The programme showcases the strong partnership between SHKP and PolyU in fostering collaboration between the industry and the academic sector to develop talent." He expressed gratitude for PolyU's long-standing support and hoped that they would continue to nurture high-calibre talent for Hong Kong and the country.
