In November last year, SmarTone established the SmarTone Innovation Hub, an open ecosystem which provides a focal point for mobile and smart city innovation, drives cross-industry collaboration, as well as guides the city on its smart city journey. Over a short span of just several months since its establishment, several projects that help businesses with their digital transformation have already been implemented. Let's take a look at how these new technologies can provide us with a more convenient working and living environment.

AR technology — smart mirror

The screen may look just like any ordinary mirror on the surface, but with AR technology, it can show users the effects after one has, for example, put on makeup so you don't need to actually apply the products. Also, one can share the image with friends to get advice before purchase.

Facial recognition technology

Access control — Facial recognition technology can verify a visitor's identity and determine that person's right of access to a restricted area.

Visitor behaviour recording — This technology can be applied as well to shopping malls, recording visitors' facial features when they come into view of the lens in malls. Together with analysis using artificial intelligence, this technology can be used to track shoppers' movements.

NB-IoT

This technology connects sensors, controllers, machinery, personnel and goods using only a limited amount of spectrum resources. It has high applicability because of its wide scope of coverage coupled with low application costs and energy consumption.
