Jointly presented by the SHKP Reading Club and the Hong Kong Aided Primary School Heads Association (HKAPSHA), the "Read & Share" programme has organized 125 activities and visits during the academic year 2017/18, offering enjoyable reading experiences to over 40,000 primary and secondary students as well as teachers. The Club recently held an award presentation ceremony to recognize the efforts of the school communities that took part in the programme.
Commending happy-reading school communities
Currently, 124 primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong have already joined the "Read & Share" programme. During the previous academic year, the Club invited 24 celebrities and authors to introduce the joy of reading to a number of campuses through inspiring activities, among which the writing competition entitled "A Letter to My Family" attracted more than 2,000 entries. In addition, the "Outstanding Performance Awards" were presented to students and teachers for their fine examples of sharing and promoting the fun of reading.
"Happy Reading STEM up!"
In the coming academic year, the theme for the "Read & Share" programme will be "Happy Reading STEM up!", in which innovative activities will be held to spur students' interest in reading and learning.
