Helping others is an important part of community life. Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative volunteers visited 3,000 seniors in Kwun Tong and Kwai Tsing for Tuen Ng Festival with food and gifts, and separately helped out older residents of Sham Shui Po and Tseung Kwan O. The SHKP Volunteer Team held a session with youngsters in need of academic or emotional support in Tseung Kwan O with the Christian Family Service Centre to help them build confidence and relationships, and worked with the Father Sean Burke Care Home for the Elderly to take housebound residents out for some fresh air.

The mainland volunteer team helped run a charity bike ride and photo auction to raise funds for the Shanghai Children's Medical Center.

SHKP joined global Earth Hour for a ninth year in a row by switching off lights in over 200 developments.
