SHKP specializes in the effective use of resources and serving the community. In recent years, the social enterprise "Light Be" began renting apartments from different landlords to sublease "Light Homes" and "Light Housing" to the underprivileged at an affordable rent. Hong Yip is responsible for overseeing the property management of Sham Tseng Light Housing.
Hong Yip oversees the project's property management
Hong Yip minimized Light Housing's use of resources by implementing smart management, so that the building's expenses directly benefit the needy. Moreover, Hong Yip's volunteers worked with Light Housing residents to carry out tree planting for the living environment such as rooftop planting and encouraging the beneficiary families themselves to contribute their part in making a better community.
