The intergenerational workplace

20.12.2017

Alex (right) is developing his potential in clubhouse management under Hondy's guidance

Alex is a fresh graduate of IVE. He joined the internship programme when Hong Yip was recruiting on campus last year and worked in The Parcville clubhouse after he graduated. Alex said he was afraid he couldn't handle the work at first because there were only six full-time clubhouse staff members, but mutual encouragement among colleagues built strong team spirit. Under the guidance of his supervisor Hondy, Alex acquired extensive professional knowledge, particularly in pool management and event planning. To Alex, Hondy is as much a teacher as a friend.

While most people think the young only want to have fun, Hondy says this quality gives them an edge in clubhouse service. Alex and some young colleagues held a Halloween party that residents enjoyed greatly. Hondy believes that so long as they find pleasure in the job and can develop their potential, they will find their worth in the workplace.
