Integrated sports and commercial complex GO PARK SAI SHA set to become Hong Kong's latest landmark
03.05.2024
The Sai Sha Mega Development Project comprises two main areas in addition to the residential development: an outdoor sports facility, offering a wide range of recreational activities, and GO PARK SAI SHA, an integrated sports and commercial complex spanning about 300,000 square feet.
Designed by world-renowned Zaha Hadid Architects, GO PARK SAI SHA features an open design, with an interconnected piazza and bridges that connect various sports, dining entertainment and multi-purpose facilities. This integration aims to offer the public a wide range of experiences in one space. The complex seamlessly blends into the natural surroundings through the incorporation of plants and seasonal flowers into the landscape design. It is designed to create a pet-friendly space that embodies intergenerational inclusivity and a coveted, quality lifestyle, bringing together groups with diverse interests. The first phase, covering a total floor area of approximately 200,000 square feet, is expected to be completed later this year.
Situated between Wu Kai Sha and Sai Kung town centre, GO PARK SAI SHA connects multiple communities in the area, including Wu Kai Sha, Tai Mong Tsai, Ma On Shan, Sai Kung, Sha Tin and Tai Po. It is about a four-minute drive to Wu Kai Sha Station (Tuen Ma Line) and an eight-minute drive to University Station (East Rail Line). To complement the existing bus and minibus routes, three new bus routes have been introduced, connecting the project to University Station, Pak Shek Kok, Ma On Shan town centre and other places.

SHKP reaches a new milestone in green construction by purchasing electric construction equipment
31.03.2024
The company has committed substantial resources to reducing carbon emissions and fostering green construction and sustainable development. It has purchased nine pieces of electric construction equipment to replace their diesel counterparts. This crucial move marks a key milestone in green construction.
While most construction equipment relies on diesel engines, the new equipment operates on cleaner electric power and has superior energy conversion efficiency. The nine pieces of electric construction equipment fall into three types: five truck cranes, two truck mixers and two trailer pumps. Some have already been put to use in SHKP projects, including the mega project at Sai Sha near Ma On Shan, the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre in-situ expansion, and the projects in Kwu Tung and So Kwun Wat.
Promoting green constructions in five key areas
SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok said: "Electrification on construction sites is an important component of the Group's carbon-reduction strategy. Our recent purchases are expected to reduce carbon emissions by about 240 tonnes annually, equivalent to planting over 10,000 trees. The use of electric equipment eliminates diesel combustion and effectively reduces emissions and noise levels on construction sites. This will provide frontline workers with a cleaner and healthier work environment." In addition to purchasing electric construction equipment, SHKP has implemented green construction initiatives in five areas to help Hong Kong develop into a greener, low-carbon city:
Adopting green smart technologies from design and construction to facility management
Developing green energy infrastructure, including one of Hong Kong’s largest solar energy networks
Collaborating with universities to conduct research in green building technologies
Providing SHKP projects and the industry with green building materials
Training green building talent by establishing Sanfield Construction Innovations Limited
