SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Publishes Lectures by Famous Academics to Promote Chinese Culture 05.08.2022 The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation and the Academy of Chinese Culture, which are committed to promoting traditional Chinese culture, invited famous academics to deliver lectures on Chinese culture and compiled their speeches into an anthology. The newly published Lectures on Chinese Culture series — Chinese Culture and Contemporary China comprises a series of lectures by 13 famous academics, including Xu Jialu, Feng Jicai, Meng Man and Liu Mengxi. Encompassing topics such as economics, religion and grammatology, the anthology succinctly demonstrates the essence of Chinese culture. SHKP Kwoks' Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok hopes that the anthology promotes and showcases the best of the fascinating Chinese culture to inspire readers.

SHKP Peer Support Programme – Companions for Underprivileged Families 14.07.2022 Early this year, the SHKP Volunteer Team collaborated with Caritas Community Centre - Ngau Tau Kok to launch the "SHKP Peer Support Programme". Recently, the programme organized its first in-venue activity: "Team Challenge Family Fun Day". Acting as a bridge between the participants and their family members, the volunteers helped them learn more about each other and develop a closer relationship by playing a series of interactive games and competitions together. The volunteers and the recipient families also created a photo frames decorated with dried flowers and photos of Hong Kong scenery. They exchanged their creations and encouraged each other to stay strong during the pandemic. The SHKP Volunteer Team will organize more activities in the coming months to continue to support underprivileged families through this one-year volunteer programme.

Large-scale transitional housing project United Court now complete and open 28.06.2022 Hosting the opening ceremony of United Court are government officials of the HKSAR; SHKP Chairman & Managing Director Raymond Kwok (fourth right); SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok (second right); SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Director Thomas Kwok (second left); the Most Revd Andrew Chan (fourth left), Archbishop and Primate of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui; Dr Donald Li (third left), Chairman of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council Board of Directors and Executive Committee; and Joseph Man (first right), Acting Director of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council United Court, in Yuen Long, for which the Group leased the land at a nominal rent of HK$1, is operated by the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council and supported by government funding. Following its completion and handover in May this year, a ground-breaking and blessing ceremony was recently held. United Court provides 1,800 units with various room types. In addition to leasing the land, SHKP was responsible for preliminary project planning, basic site formation, technology support and providing property management consultancy. The project also includes an integrated service building, a convenience store, a quick-cut hair salon, communal kitchens and recreational facilities, as well as expansive public space for residents. The United Court project epitomizes the power of tripartite collaboration among the government, the business sector and the community. It took only 19 months to complete the project, which involved a range of processes, including application, ground-breaking, construction, completion and handover. In addition, United Court is the first transitional housing in Hong Kong to establish a Well-Being Index. Based on the residents' needs for wellness encompassing eight dimensions – physical, mental, social, financial, occupational, spiritual, environmental and technological – United Court will provide them with relevant support to encourage them to develop healthy lifestyle habits and build up their self-esteem.

SHKP Volunteer Team Expresses Love and Care to the Elderly in Pak Tin Estate during the Tuen Ng Festival 13.06.2022 To provide assistance to the elderly affected by the redevelopment of Pak Tin Estate, the SHKP Volunteer Team has provided various types of support to them over the past three years, including home-inspection service, basic renovation work and regular home visits. Recently, the team visited elderly families in Pak Tin Estate during the Tuen Ng Festival. The volunteers distributed goodie bags and chit-chatted with the elderly to learn about their life after removal. The volunteers were gratified to see that they had settled down in their new homes and built close relationships with their neighbours amid the pandemic. Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative Organizes Tuen Ng Festival Sharing Activity In addition, through collaboration with social welfare organizations, SHKP's Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative shared the festive cheer and distributed Tuen Ng Festival goodie bags to underprivileged families in Central and Western District, Islands District and Eastern District.

SHKP Supernova Virtual Series Race Gathers Cyclists in the Metaverse 07.06.2022 The pandemic has brought virtual sports competitions into the mainstream. Dedicated to supporting cycling sports development, SHKP has kept abreast of the rising metaverse trend and recently organized five sessions of the SHKP Supernova Virtual Series Race. Even though outdoor cycling training is not possible during the pandemic, the virtual races have provided a valuable training opportunity for the riders to maintain their best condition. About 110 local and international riders and 12 cycling teams participated in the cycling race, comprising individual and team classifications, the latter was added in the virtual race for the first time. Through a cycling app, the cyclists entered the metaverse and competed with each other in various landscapes, including mountains, beaches, cities and forests. SHKP donates 800 toys to bring joy to children under quarantine 03.05.2022 SHKP donated 800 educational toys, including board games, puzzles and learning sets, which were jointly delivered by the SHKP Volunteer Team and Youth Anti-Coronavirus Link to provide Easter joy to children under pandemic quarantine in the community isolation facility in Tam Mi, Yuen Long. Taking into consideration the diversified needs of the various age groups, YATA, the SHKP subsidiary, sourced the toys to allow the children to enhance knowledge through play whilst enjoying joyful parent-child moments. SHKP will also present 15,000 tickets to the Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck and another 15,000 to Noah's Ark Hong Kong Theme Park for people under quarantine to visit once the pandemic subsides. In addition to promptly donating 20,000 rapid antigen test kits and 10,000 caring kits to Youth Anti-Coronavirus Link at the end of February when the pandemic was at its worst, the SHKP Volunteer Team has taken part in community care activities, distributing anti-pandemic caring kits door-to-door to support the underprivileged living in subdivided flats and minority groups.

SHKP Volunteer Team provides peer support for underprivileged families 28.04.2022 The SHKP Volunteer Team has partnered with the Caritas Community Centre – Ngau Tau Kok to run the "SHKP Peer Support Programme" for underprivileged families, which will last for one year. In the programme, the volunteers are paired up with participating families to build mutual trust and friendship through various interactions to help relieving the parents' anxiety in life. The children are also encouraged to develop interpersonal relationships through the programme activities to enhance their sense of belonging to their family and society, and learn to love the surrounding community.

Gary, a property and facility manager in Grand YOHO, Yuen Long, was once under quarantine and experienced the residents' anxiety about the pandemic.
