By simply using a step ladder, Metroplaza's team rescued a customer who was trapped in a clothing store's fitting room.
The mall's management services office recently received an urgent request from its clothing store tenant, whose customer was trapped in the fitting room. The office immediately sent four staff of its operations team to help. When the team arrived, they immediately examined the store, calmed the customers and store staff, and arranged the engineering team for unlocking. As unlocking was time-consuming, the team made good use of a gap between the top of the fitting room walls and the ceiling. After overcoming the space restrictions, the team placed a step ladder through the gap, thus quickly extracting the customer!
The great ingenuity of the mall's team ended the crisis and allowed the store to resume operations quickly. The concerted, accountable effort of the team was acknowledged by both tenants and customers.

Sanfield competes in E-Sport Games

E-Sports are a form of competition in electronic game format, similar to traditional sports, since physical fitness, techniques and teamwork are required in the competitions. With increasing popularity, it is rumoured that E-Sports will likely be included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games! The subsidiary of SHKP, Sanfield participated in the recent Construction Industry E-Sport Games and won a championship, two first runner-up, a second runner-up, and three third runner-up awards.
As the pandemic has continued, the organizer, the Construction Industry Sports & Volunteering Programme (CISVP), changed the traditional sport games into E-Sports Games this year, including skiing, E-basketball and E-football techniques, boxing, cycling, horse-riding, leapfrogging and canoeing. Our Sanfield colleagues, who are always passionate about sports, participated in a series of events and were the champions in the cycling team competition. Among them, Fong Kwong-leong, was first runner-up in the E-basketball techniques competition. In addition, Sanfield received the Award for Most Participation for its keen participation, which was a great achievement. For colleagues who enjoy playing electronic games, don't let your talent go to waste since you might have a chance to represent Hong Kong one day!

Sanfield gives winter blessings by distributing Lo Pan Rice to the underprivileged

Sanfield upholds the SHKP belief in Building Homes with Heart and caring for those in need in society. It showed support and sponsored the recent Construction Industry Lo Pan Rice Campaign under the Construction Industry Sports & Volunteering Programme. The Sanfield volunteers showed their care by distributing free Lo Pan Rice to the singleton elderly, unemployed and low-income families in Kwai Chung. On the event day, Sanfield gave out over 100 lunch boxes and food goodie bags, sending their warmest blessings to the community. In the next few months, Sanfield will participate in a series of rice distribution voluntary events, benefitting more people in society.
Origins of Lo Pan Rice
Lo Pan Rice, also known as 'chef rice', originates from the tradition of the construction industry to distribute meals to the community on Lo Pan Patron's Day, which is June 13th in the lunar calendar. In the old days, people from both rich and poor families queued up for Lo Pan Rice for their children, in the hope that their children would be as versatile as Lo Pan. Nowadays, distributing Lo Pan Rice has become an important voluntary activity in the construction industry to give back to society. Apart from Lo Pan Patron's Day, Sanfield gives out Lo Pan Rice to disadvantaged groups in major festivals.
In recent years, Sanfield has actively taken part in the Construction Industry Sports & Volunteering Programme, which was established in 2016 by the Construction Industry Council to encourage industry practitioners' participation in sports programmes and volunteer services to pursue a healthy lifestyle, as well as giving back to the community and bringing positive vibes to Hong Kong.

The SHKP volunteer team uses its corporate expertise to serve the community, while providing care to those in need through various voluntary projects. Even when the projects end, the friendships between the volunteers and beneficiaries last for years. While the volunteers continue to develop new voluntary services, they also organized a reunion with the elderly who benefitted from previous voluntary projects, showing their continuing love and care.
Reuniting with the beneficiary elderly under the Redevelopment of Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate – Old Friends Reunion activity
During 2007 and 2009, the volunteers provided one-stop move-in support for the elderly affected by the redevelopment of Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate. Recently, they met the beneficiaries again by chance, and the volunteers immediately decided to organize the Redevelopment of Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate – Old Friends Reunion activity to reunite with the beneficiary elderly who had benefitted from the voluntary projects held over a decade ago.
Despite the fact that the appearance and situations of the volunteers and beneficiaries had changed over the past 14 years, their friendship remained strong. At the reunion, a beneficiary grandmother brought along an album of countless old photos taken with the volunteers to reminisce about the past. The grandmother expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided by the volunteers. Although it was a pity that time flies, everyone was grateful that they had made these friendships in the good old days. Although it was only a half-day event with interactive games and opportunities for sharing, everyone could easily return to the old familiar feeling. In the end, the volunteers gave their old friends gift bags and sent them home, for a heartwarming end to the day.
Taking part in the Diamond Hill Kai Chuen Court Water–Lively Estate programme
The SHKP volunteer team also provides a floor tiling service for older singletons and couples, and families with special needs who are preparing to relocate to Kai Chuen Court in Diamond Hill. Thanks to years of practice in voluntary projects over the past years, the volunteers have developed professional skills, completing the floor tiling service for 30 households in just two days.

In view of the cold weather expected in November, the SHKP Volunteer Team called on the colleagues and their families, as well as Sunshine Sub-team members, to volunteer by knitting winter scarves and hats in early July, to cater for the need of the elderly and other members of the community to keep warm in winter. The winter scarves and hats will be distributed later. The SHKP Volunteer Team attentively arranged for experienced knitters to teach basic knitting skills to those volunteers who did not know how to knit in a recent class. The participants learned and practised, hoping to pass on their warm blessings to the elderly and others in need through a winter hat or scarf.
