SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation ensures the smooth operation of its charity projects 09.08.2024 The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation (the Foundation) has established scholarship programmes in 30 provinces and cities across the country. To optimize the programmes, the Foundation's representatives regularly visit the beneficiary universities to ensure the programmes are implemented properly and build connections with the graduated scholarship recipients. The Foundation representatives visited Sun Yat-sen University and organized an event to learn more about the status and career development of the alumni of the beneficiary universities in the Greater Bay Area. The alumni expressed interest in attending more events to broaden their horizons and express love and care for each other. The Foundation also held a video conference with the Management Committee of the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation and Northwest University Scholarship Programme. With the Foundation's financial support, 84% of the scholarship recipients were studying in postgraduate programmes in 2024, 70% of whom received a postgraduate recommendation from the university.

Read to Dream takes young people on an aerospace journey through reading 25.07.2024 SHKP Reading Club has teamed up with the Patriotic Education Centre to organize this year's summer reading programme Read to Dream. The programme includes a series of activities themed around aerospace, with the aim of enhancing young people's knowledge of the country's achievements in this field. The centre was established by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers. As part of this year's Read to Dream initiative, 1,000 underprivileged students from Sha Tin and Yau Tsim Mong District were provided with a HK$250 allowance to buy books on STEM and Chinese culture at the Hong Kong Book Fair, held from 17 to 23 July. The participating schools and organizations also received a transportation subsidy. Meanwhile, the SHKP Reading Club booth at the book fair was transformed into a "Space Reading Station", with space-themed reading materials, interactive STEM games, and souvenirs for students and parents. In the 2024-25 academic year, Read to Dream will sponsor students to visit the city's first aerospace science education centre, set up by the Patriotic Education Centre. The centre showcases various simulation models and exhibits, helping the students deepen their understanding of the country's progress in aerospace.

Park Royale property management team locates missing boy 08.07.2024 The property management team of Park Royale located a missing boy, demonstrating its quick thinking and high level of professionalism. One evening, an owner of Park Royale approached the staff seeking urgent help to find her child. Her autistic son was not wearing a tracking watch that day and she could not find him despite searching for over an hour. The staff quickly checked the CCTV footage to ensure that the boy had not left the property, and mobilized other team members to join the search. They also posted an appeal for residents' help and shared information about the missing boy on the property's official online chat group. Finally, Wong Xi-jun, a security guard at Park Royale, found the missing boy at the entrance of the basement. All the team members were relieved and delighted to see the boy reunited with his mother.

Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative celebrates the Tuen Ng Festival with the underprivileged 21.06.2024 As part of SHKP's Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative, our volunteer team and its community volunteer partners distributed goodie bags and rice dumplings to families in Tai Po's Fu Heng Estate and Fu Tip Estate to celebrate Tuen Ng Festival. The event was held even though Typhoon Signal No.3 was in effect. The volunteer team also arranged to distribute festive food to elderly residents in Pak Tin Estate in Sham Shui Po as a gesture to show their love and care.

Kicking off the SHKP S.miles Journey Programme 11.06.2024 The SHKP Volunteer Team has partnered with Yang Memorial Methodist Social Service to launch the SHKP S.miles Journey Programme. This 18-month initiative will engage a group of golden-age (newly retired) retirees from the West Kowloon district as volunteer partners. Both SHKP volunteers and the golden-age volunteers will learn how to make short videos. These videos will highlight old community stories and the latest developments in West Kowloon. The volunteers will also try to get in touch with those elderly persons who are isolated or difficult to reach, as well as those with dementia and their carers to help relieve their stress. The SHKP volunteers and golden-age volunteers have already begun getting to know one another through a series of icebreaker activities. Both groups look forward to developing meaningful connections with the programme's beneficiaries in the next 18 months.

SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation deepens collaboration with Nanjing University 10.05.2024 The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation established a scholarship programme for Nanjing University in 2006. To deepen the longstanding collaboration, SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok (front row, right) and Secretary of the CPC Nanjing University Committee Tan Tieniu (front row, left) recently signed a letter of intent regarding donations. Since its inception, the scholarship programme has benefitted close to 3,000 students, with donations totalling some HK$16 million.

Hong Yip supports Peace Box Campaign 2024 02.05.2024 Every year, Hong Yip and other charitable organizations come together to organize the Peace Box campaign, where they present gift boxes to people in need to show their love and support. Supported by residents of Hong Yip's managed properties, as well as the participation of over 30 schools, private companies, churches, and individuals, the event received a generous donation of more than 10,000 gift boxes. These boxes were filled with daily necessities, food, toys, stationery and other items. With the theme "LIGHT", this year’s campaign aimed to bring brightness and positivity to people's lives. Volunteers distributed the gift boxes to the underprivileged, the elderly and the homeless, spreading care and well wishes.

SHKP malls support people with dementia with attentive service and smart technology 19.03.2024 With its professional and attentive Customer Care Ambassador teams, SHKP malls have helped locate a number of lost elderly people with dementia. To enhance its support, major SHKP malls have installed the Dementia's Secret Angel APP and Angel Box to facilitate the quick return of people with dementia who have wandered off. apm Customer Care Ambassador helps locate an older woman with dementia Chanel Tam, a Customer Care Ambassador at apm, once encountered an old woman seeking directions to a restaurant. Ten minutes later, she came back to ask the same question. Chanel noticed the woman's slow response and puzzled look, so she offered to accompany her to the restaurant. During the walk, Chanel suspected that the woman had dementia, as she did not know where she was and could not tell if she was accompanied by any family members. Chanel noticed an Octopus card hanging from her neck with a phone number on it. She called the number and got in touch with the woman's daughter, who got separated from her mother when she went to the toilet. She expressed immense relief and gratitude towards Chanel for taking care of her mother. Supporting the Caring Communities for Dementia Campaign to enhance protection of people with dementia To help locate individuals with dementia more quickly, the company joined the Caring Communities for Dementia Campaign, a collaboration between the team of Professor Gary Chan from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing. The Dementia's Secret Angel APP has been installed in the tablets of 25 SHKP malls across Hong Kong, and over 100 Bluetooth detection devices, known as "Angel Boxes", have been installed at the main entrances of 18 of the malls. Through this campaign, SHKP aims to leverage its extensive mall network to assist in locating lost elderly people, fostering a compassionate and friendly community.

SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation continues to support talented students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong 12.03.2024 The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation (the Foundation) has been supporting a scholarship programme that subsidizes outstanding local and mainland students with limited means to pursue undergraduate studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) since 2005. Recently, Professor Anthony Chan, a Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of CUHK, visited the headquarters of Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) with academic staff and scholarship recipients. They expressed their gratitude to the Foundation for its support over the years. During the meeting, SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok encouraged the beneficiary students to cherish the opportunity to study at CUHK, develop a global perspective and contribute back to society in the future. She also looked forward to maintaining the collaboration with CUHK to nurture more talent for the country and Hong Kong.
